Description:
The hotel derives its name from one of the main characters in Mozart's opera
"The Magic Flute". This opera had its premier in 1791 at the "Freihaus-Theater
auf der Wieden", which was just next-door to the hotel but no longer exists.
Hotel Papageno first opened in 1920. Managing this property since 1985, the
current management has tried to conserve the hotel's unique flair of the late
art deco period while offering modern comfort from today. High ceilings project
the flair of the end of the 19th century. The upper floors offer an impressive
panorama from the inner city to the Viennese Woods. An internet-terminal in
the lobby, a contracted garage and 25 different restaurants accessible within
3 minutes complete the offer.
Rooms:
All 44 rooms (partially very spacious, most of them absolutely quiet with view
to the nostalgic inner courtyards) provide bath or shower/WC, hair dryer, direct-dial-telephone
and radio alarm, cable-TV, minibar, internet-connection and fax-modem.
