Hotel Donauwalzer *** is a centrally located family hotel with excellent connection by public transport to Vienna's most interesting sights. Tram 44 has a stop in front of the hotel. The underground line U6 (station: Alser Straße) is 100 meters away from the hotel. Some impressive sights, like the Volksoper and the Fiakermuseum are very close to the hotel. The 8th district with it's typical restaurants and bars and the well known "Theater in der Josefstadt" are situated nearby.
The building, in which the hotel Donauwalzer is situated, was built in 1901 by a famous Austrian winegrower family as a hotel with restaurant. It was as a wedding gift for their son. The hotel with its excellent cuisine became famous and was known as the "Little Sacher from Hernals". During the 2nd World War a hotel wing was destroyed by a bomb. In 1985 the building was renovated with much love for the detail and tradition. The Sauna, the Gym, the Snack Bar and the Discothek are within the house and invite everyone to relax, chat and enjoy the Viennese lifestyle.
All 75 rooms are equipped with bath/shower, telephone, cable/satellite TV and minibar. Furthermore the hotel offers an elevator for disabled persons and non-smoking rooms.
