To provide you with a first impression of the city, we start our tour at Ringstrasse. This boulevard with an approximate length of 4 km was created in the course of the city’s first expansion in the middle of the 19th century on the area of the former Glacis. We will see buildings like the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Natural History, the City Hall, the Burgtheater, the Parliament, the University, and many more. The highlight of our excursion is a tour through Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the former Imperial House of Austria.

Life at the Viennese Court

This city walk starts with a tour through the individual tracts of the Vienna Imperial Palace, the winter residence of the Imperial family. To get an impression of their daily life, you will be shown the former office and private apartments of Emperor Franz Josef and his wife, Empress Elisabeth, known as Sisi. You will visit the newly built Sisi Museum and the Silver Chamber, where the valuable silver tableware and service is exhibited, which was used by the Imperial family on a daily basis.

Vienna Woods - Wienerwald - Heiligenkreuz

This half-day trip takes you to the southern part of Wienerwald. Our first destination is Liechtenstein castle, which was built in the 19th century following the architectural designs of the Romanesque style. Through a picturesque landscape, the excursion continues to Heiligenkreuz, the oldest Cistercian monastery in Lower Austria, which was founded in 1135/36 by the Babenberger duke Leopold III. Past Mayerling, the former hunting castle of Crown Prince Rudolf, we cross the Helenental valley to Baden, a spa city with a historic center dating back to the Biedermeier period. Along the Wine Path via Gumpoldskirchen, a town renowned for its excellent wines, we finally return to Vienna.

Walk through the “Old Vienna“

The purpose of this walk is to present parts of old Vienna which cannot be shown to the visitor in the course of a regular sightseeing tour. Starting at Josefsplatz, our walk takes us past the Imperial Palace, the winter residence of the Imperial family. After a walk through the Volksgarten we reach Beethoven-Pasqualatihouse where the famous composer lived for some time. Here, Beethoven composed his first bigger opus, the opera “Leonore”, afterwards renamed into “Fidelio”. Subsequently, our walk leads us over Herrengasse and Graben to St. Stephen’s Cathedrale. After a turn around with its numerous cultural and historical highlights we lead you through small lanes and yards, which really provide us an impression of the old Vienna.
